Jessica S., from Morse, TX, exemplifies the courage, the grit, and determination to make the best of a tough situation. Battling Cystic Fibrosis since a toddler, Jessica never let the disease get in the way of junior and high school rodeo competition.

In 1999, Western Wishes sent Jessica and her family to Ft. Worth to spend the entire day with her cowgirl hero, ten-time WPRA World Champion Barrel Racer, Charmayne James.

Later, Western Wishes sent Jessica to meet her favorite country singer, George Strait, at the George Strait Invitational Roping, where George surprised her with a birthday cake and gifts for her 12th birthday.

Today, Jessica is holding her own and competes in college rodeo. Western Wishes continues to highlight the fighting spirit of this inspirational cowgirl’s progress.
