Matthew P. is a bull rider, team roper, calf roper, and an all around Cowboy. As far back as his mother can remember Matt has always wanted to ride bulls. As a mom she was hoping that he would just get over the idea and move onto something else. Matt was 13 years old the first time he rode a bull. With a huge smile on his face, she knew a bull rider was born. With hard work, grit, and true determination Matt won his first bull riding within 8 months. The rest is history. Today he is an accomplished high school rodeo bull rider and roper.
Diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2007 during his junior year in high school Matt is the perfect example of courage. With courage you will dare to take risks, have the strength to be compassionate and the wisdom to be humble. Courage is the foundation of integrity, and Matt exudes integrity in his life. Western Wishes is honoring Matt for both his courage and accomplishments in the face of true adversity… and for being an example to everyone faced with a challenge in their lives.
