Chandler, who is now only 4, was just recently diagnosed with Shwachman Diamond Syndrome (SDS), a rare bone marrow cellular disease and Chiari 1 Malformation of the brain. His parents learned this, after 3 1/2 years of fighting symptoms. He has already endured one brain surgery, and may face more. He has endured more than 200 procedures and tests. Chandler will be making a trip to Cincinnati to be seen by a doctor there, to verify whether or not the initial diagnosis of SDS is correct.
Western Wishes partnered with the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse to make Chandler an honorary member of the Posse. In addition, funds were raised so that Chandler can go to “8 Seconds To Glory”; an “8 Seconds” movie cast and character reunion on Saturday, July 21. Proceeds of the charity gala will benefit Western Wishes.
