Western Wishes is anticipating one of the most important facets of the program; that of enlisting high school and college-age kids, in the agricultural world, to pay it forward by finding deserving children and young adults, coordinating and hosting wishes, then communicating inspiring stories on our website and Facebook. By challenging others to do the same more lives will be impacted. The idea of kids helping kids is our greatest joy and a serious mission of Western Wishes.
In 2013, high school rodeo kids raised funds for Western Wishes by having events and getting school credits in community service. Western Wishes celebrates the great hearts of these young students who understand the value of service to others.
Western Wishes is also seeking film students, writers, bloggers, editors and camera people to take on projects that will be part of our annual book and DVD series with the goal of inspiring kids and families by music with a message. The website features called The Cowgirl Buzz and Cowboy U-Tube are also an integral part of the media ministry that we believe will touch hearts and reach far more kids.
In 2009, Western Wishes produced a special event that was televised by RFD-TV called the Heart of the West Awards. Western Wishes is currently actively finding production people who will be given specific stories and topics in a form of teachings to edify kids, arming them with tools to give away hope and inspiration to others. In 2014, these projects will be entered in a contest and the winners will be announced and honored at the Heart of the West Awards. (Venue TBA)
